Cal State Bakersfield vs Hawaii Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Big West is one of the most parity-filled conferences in college basketball, and this year is no exception. Eight different schools have represented the league in the last ten NCAA Tournaments.<\/p>\n

Hawaii and Bakersfield are looking to return to March Madness for the first time since the 2015-16 season, when both qualified for The Big Dance.<\/p>\n

Roadrunners Rally Late in Season<\/h3>\n

Hawaii is 10-5 in conference play and is coming off one of its best wins of the season, beating Long Beach on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Eran Ganot’s team has five double-digit scorers on his squad, with all of them capable of leading the team on any given night.\u00a0 Bakersfield is a little bit farther down the table, but is playing some of its best basketball of the season.<\/p>\n

The Roadrunners have won four of their last five, and that’s coincided with the emergence of Antavion Collum. The former Ole Miss transfer has scored 20+ in five of his last seven games, including a 23-point, six-rebound and four-assist showcase in the win over Cal Poly.<\/p>\n

Expect Points in Cal State Bakersfield vs Hawaii<\/h3>\n

The over has cashed in nine-straight games involving Bakersfield, and we’re going back to the well here with a very modest total in the low 120’s.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the season, Bakersfield failed to eclipse 50 points on six occasions. The Roadrunners were held to 44 points by Utah and 48 against both Fresno State and San Jose State.<\/p>\n

Those offensive struggles have largely been brushed aside over the last month as Bakersfield has adjusted to life without starting point guard Kaleb Higgins and leaned on Collum for production.<\/p>\n

While the Roadrunners’ offense has seen notable improvement lately, there are still plenty of flaws on the defensive side.<\/p>\n

Bakersfield is last in the conference in effective field goal defense and two-point shooting. Conference opponents are shooting 55.3-percent from inside the arc, which is over five percentage points higher than the national average.<\/p>\n

To accommodate for Hawaii’s tough travel, the Big West plays a condensed weekend schedule with short turnaround between the first and second game.<\/p>\n

Bakersfield plays at one of the slowest tempos in the country, but there has been a notable scoring increase in the second leg of these short turnaround weekends.<\/p>\n

This will be the seventh time in conference play that Bakersfield has played two games in three days. The second leg of those first six weekends have seen an average of 137.3 points per game.<\/p>\n

That’s 15 points higher than the mark that Hawaii and Bakersfield are being asked to clear tonight. If it’s a tight game in the second half and we need free throws, we’ve got the two best teams in the Big West. Play the over.<\/p>\n
