Toronto Maple Leafs vs Chicago Blackhawks Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Toronto Maple Leafs will enter Wednesday night\u2019s game at home against the Chicago Blackhawks as one of the biggest mid-season favorites ever, with lines currently priced up as high as -500 at some sportsbooks.<\/p>\n

That line\u2019s not entirely without merit either as Chicago have gone just 6-14-2 away from home this year, and have lost four of their last five road games by an average scoring margin of 3.5 goals per game as well, so it’s somewhat understandable why this line’s been priced as high as it has been.<\/p>\n

This will be the first of two scheduled meetings between the two teams this season before they come back and serve up game two on Sunday, but it\u2019s been a series traditionally dominated by the Blackhawks, with Chicago winning 16 of the last 23 meetings between the two sides over recent years.<\/p>\n

It’s Been A Rough Season For Chicago<\/h3>\n

Sitting rock-bottom of the Western Conference with just 37 points and a -65 goal differential, it\u2019s fair to say the 2022-23 season hasn\u2019t exactly turned out as well as the Blackhawks would have liked.<\/p>\n

In terms of data, it\u2019s been offensively where Chicago has struggled most this season, with the Blackhawks ranking last in the league in offensive xG, last in scoring chances created, and last in offensive scoring as well, generating just 2.40 GPG on average this year.<\/p>\n

Toronto’s Solid Record Against Western Conference Opposition<\/h3>\n

Despite their poor head-to-head record over recent seasons against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Toronto Maple Leafs have actually enjoyed a ton of success when facing teams from the Western Conference in general, winning 11 of the last 14 times in which that situation has occurred.<\/p>\n

That record has been helped by an offensive power play production from the Leafs of 25.44% this season, top four in the league overall.<\/p>\n

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Chicago Blackhawks Expert Prediction<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s fair to say that it would be a major shock if Chicago were able to secure a victory in this game as metrically at least, Toronto are the far superior team ahead of this game.<\/p>\n

That said, we simply can\u2019t lay anywhere near this type of number on the Leafs so instead we\u2019re going to pivot and look toward the Last Goal (Excl OT) prop which is going off at +200 on Chicago to get the final goal in this game.<\/p>\n

Similar to what we saw in Monday night’s game between the LA Kings and Buffalo Sabres where one team completely dominates the action, it often leaves the door open for the opposing team to get a couple of consolation goals at the end, and at this kind of +money price on Wednesday, we like the value on Chicago to be that team in this one.<\/p>\n
