New York Knicks vs Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Cleveland Cavaliers travel to the Big Apple for an Eastern Conference clash with the New York Knicks on Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 114-102 at home on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The Knicks are coming off their 4th straight loss 125-116 north of the border against the Toronto Raptors. After splitting the first two meetings, this will be the third and final matchup between these teams. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST\/4:30 PST at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n

Knicks Hope To Avoid Fifth Straight Loss<\/h3>\n

The New York Knicks fell to 25-23 on the season after losing their 4th straight game in Toronto on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Free throws may have been the difference as the Raptors shot 28-35 for 80% from the charity stripe while New York went only 18-26 69.2%. RJ Barrett led all scorers with 30 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.<\/p>\n

Julius Randle recorded a 23 point, 19 rebound double-double while falling just short of a triple-double with 8 assists. New York currently sits at 7th place in the Eastern Conference, 10 games behind the first place Celtics.<\/p>\n

The Knicks rank middle of the pack in scoring at 14th with 114.3 points a game on 45.7% from the field. They sit at 14th in defensive rating and 11th in defensive scoring with 112.3 points allowed per game.<\/p>\n

Big man Mitchell Robinson remains out after thumb surgery while Immanuel Quickly is questionable with a knee injury.<\/p>\n

Mitchell Close To Return For Cavaliers<\/h3>\n

The Cleveland Cavaliers improved to 29-19 on the season after snapping a two game mini-skid against Milwaukee. The Cavs dominated scoring in the paint with a 66-44 edge while also winning the turnover battle 16-9.<\/p>\n

Evan Mobley led all scorers with 38 points along with 9 rebounds. Darius Garland recorded 21 point, 10 assist double-double while Caris LeVert chipped in with 13 points and 7 assists. Cleveland occupies the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference, six games behind the first place Celtics.<\/p>\n

Defense is their calling card as they rank #1 in defensive rating and scoring with only 107.3 points allowed per game. The Cavs are challenged offensively where they sit at 26th in scoring with only 111.7 points per game on 48.4% from the field.<\/p>\n

Donovan Mitchell is listed as questionable but expected to return from a groin injury while Dylan Windler remains out with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n

The Cleveland Cavaliers enter this contest as 3.5 point road favorites with a total set at 221. The Knicks have lost four straight shootouts and now they face the leagues #1 rated defense.<\/p>\n

The Cavaliers play at the slowest pace in the league while the Knicks are 4th slowest. This has me thinking unders and RJ Barrett seems to be playing over his head recently. Barrett scored 30, 23, 21 and 32 in his last four games where 241, 263, 221 & 243 total points were scored.<\/p>\n

Two of those games were against Toronto (who Barrett feasts on) and one was against a weak Atlanta defense. Barrett has a point total of 22.5 and he has fallen short of that total in 28 of 42 games, giving this under a 66% success rate on the season.<\/p>\n

The Cavaliers are an elite defense that owns the interior and with Mobley & Allen in the paint easy looks will be hard to come by. Barrett has scored 15 points in both meetings with Cleveland this season and has fallen short of 23 points in 6 of 8 games against them in his career.<\/p>\n

He is also due for some regression from long distance where he shot 50% & 60% the last two games as he is only shooting 33.2% on the season.<\/p>\n

Julius Randle & Jalen Brunson always take tons of shots and now Barrett is facing a smothering defense that he has struggled with in the past. Let’s go under on RJ.<\/p>\n
