Mainz vs Borussia Dortmund Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

Borussia Dortmund sit 6th in the league this season after one of the slowest starts in recent years for them, but will nevertheless know that a win here puts them in 2nd spot prior to the other late-game kick-offs.<\/p>\n

That should be incentive enough for \u2018Der BVB\u2019 to get a victory in this one as they look to rectify a really poor tally that has seen them lose five of their eight road games this season in the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n

They face a Mainz team here on Wednesday who have been equally as poor this season at home however, winning just one game inside Mewa Arena all year, and are winless in five straight league games also.<\/p>\n

Dortmund have won five straight games against Mainz in this venue dating back to 2017 by a combined 12-2 scoring margin.<\/p>\n

Dortmund Struggling To Find Danger-Man<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s been a tough transition for Borussia Dortmund since last season, with the post-Erling Haaland era officially in full effect and replacement Sebastien Haller continuing to work his way back from unfortunate cancer treatment.<\/p>\n

No player has been able to fill that role to date however, with no player currently listed inside the Bundesliga\u2019s top ten scorers this season, with highest team goalscorer Youssoufa Moukoko netting just six times all year for the yellow and blacks.<\/p>\n

Offensive Woes Continue For Mainz<\/h3>\n

While Mainz\u2019s defense has been solid this year at home, giving up just nine goals on the season so far and ranking 3rd in defensive xGA this year also, their offense has been anything but solid.<\/p>\n

Outside of a 5-0 win over FC Koln back in October, Mainz have failed to score more than a single goal in any other game at home all season, and sit bottom of the league in offensive xG at home this year also.<\/p>\n

Mainz vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction<\/h2>\n

Despite all their issues in scoring this year, and their terrible H2H record against Borussia Dortmund over recent seasons as well, Mainz\u2019s under-rated defense definitely has the ability to keep them in this game and stifle Dortmund in a game it wouldn\u2019t be a complete surprise to see play out in a stalemate here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Mainz already held a red-hot RB Leipzig team to a draw in this venue back in October and they\u2019re more than capable of doing the same to an under-firing Borussia Dortmund team on Wednesday also.<\/p>\n
