Manchester City vs Wolves Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

Manchester City will look to continue their push to try and close the gap at the top of the table on Arsenal on Sunday after coming off a 4-2 win against Tottenham on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Manchester City suffered a bit of a lethargic start in that game, going 2-0 down at the break as Spurs scored two quick goals before half-time to take the lead.<\/p>\n

However, City weren\u2019t to be denied as they bagged four goals over the final 45 minutes to keep their total hopes alive and will need to follow that up with another win here against Wolves on Sunday if they\u2019re going to continue that title challenge.<\/p>\n

Wolves for their part have rebounded since new coach Julen Lopetegui took charge back in November, losing just once over their last four league starts in all, and got very unlucky against Liverpool in their recent FA Cup clash as well.<\/p>\n

Wolves famously did the double over City a few seasons ago but since then it\u2019s been all \u2018Cityzen\u2019s\u2019, with City winning five straight games against Wolves heading into this one by an average scoring margin of 3.20 to 0.60 goals per game also.<\/p>\n

Despite Recent Success, Offensive Woes Continue For Wolves<\/h3>\n

Despite a recent positive turnaround for Julen Lopetegui\u2019s side since the World Cup break, Wolves have continued to struggle up front, with two slender one-goal victories over relegation candidates West Ham and Everton over recent games hardly providing much optimism that those offensive problems have been fixed either.<\/p>\n

Wolves rank last in total scoring offense this year, netting just 0.63 goals per game on average, and have scored the fewest goals from open play out of any team in the league this season as well.<\/p>\n

City Suffering Through Defensive Lapses<\/h3>\n

While Manchester City have been sensational this season defensively overall, ranking #1 in the league on both defensive xGA and defensive xGA at home this year, their lapses in concentration at the back have cost them this season.<\/p>\n

An astronomical 35% of all City\u2019s goals allowed this year have come from set-pieces, penalties, and own goals, and that\u2019s an area Pep Guardiola drastically needs to clean up if Manchester City are going to close the gap on the leading Gunners at the top of the table.<\/p>\n

Manchester City vs Wolves Prediction<\/h2>\n

Manchester City are on the warpath right now and showed just how dangerous they can be in that second-half display against Tottenham on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

While some fatigue may play a factor in this game, especially with such a short turnaround, we nevertheless like Manchester City in this spot to beat Wolves on Sunday as their numbers continue to dwarf those of the West Midlands side this season.<\/p>\n

Manchester City own the league\u2019s #1 expected goals differential this season, a number which is almost 2 clear goals per game ahead of Wolves who rank in minus territory away from home this year.<\/p>\n
