An absolute banger of a fight with the light Heavyweight championship on the line between rising star Jamahal Hill and former Champion and older statesman of the division Glover Texeira headlines the first PPV of UFC.<\/p>\n

This is the 2nd straight month the light Heavyweight championship is on the line, as Blachowicz fought Ankalaev to a draw in December with the championship on the line. Oddsmakers are seeing a tightly contested matchup for the strap.<\/p>\n

Jamahal Hill has improved rapidly since joining the UFC off of Dana Whites Contender Series in 2019. Hill has amassed a 6-1 record in the UFC, including five wins coming via KO\/TKO.<\/p>\n

A fan favorite for his diverse style and longevity at the highest level, Glover Teixeira has been a top contender\/champion for 11 years and is still doing his thing.<\/p>\n

Sweet Dreams<\/h3>\n

Jamahal hill has a very fitting nickname with Sweet Dreams cause when he catches you flush, it’s game over nighty night.<\/p>\n

Hill has proven himself able to grind out wins against formidable competitors like Thiago Santos while also starching the likes of Johnny Walker and Jimmy Crute.<\/p>\n

The question must be asked, is Jamahal Hill prepared for this level of challenge from Glover Teixeira? We’ll learn a lot about the mental sharpness of Jamahal Hill as he’ll be defending takedowns against one of if not the most dangerous grapplers the Light Heavyweight division has ever seen.<\/p>\n

Hill will be looking to touch the chin of Teixeira early and come firing out of a cannon hoping to stop Teixeira early. On the feet before, it’ll be all Hill, but the longer this fight goes, the more it’ll favour the grinding style of Glover Teixeira.<\/p>\n

Gentle Killer<\/h3>\n

Glover Teixeira is one of the most respected but feared opponents in all of Mixed Martial Arts as he’ll crack jokes at weigh-ins and walk in the Octagon, a stone-cold killer ready to leave it all on the line to get his hand raised.<\/p>\n

Teixeira has watched his protege Alex Perreira breakthrough, winning the Middleweight Championship recently and that no doubt plays a factor in his mindset and motivation to get his championship back.<\/p>\n

It also gives him a great sparring partner who can help him prepare for the talented Hill’s speed and unique boxing skills. I expect Teixeira to impose his will early and make this a clinch battle on the feet while trying to wear on Hill.<\/p>\n

Glover Teixeira vs Jamahal Hill Prediction<\/h2>\n

This is a close matchup with many different outcome possibilities. I foresee Hill coming out fast, looking to land big and put Glover to sleep, while Glover looks to gain ground control, land heavy shots from the top position, and search for submissions.<\/p>\n

I’m betting on a rapid pace and for Hill to be dominant on the feet while Glover is dominant on the ground. Whichever comes first, I expect a quick finish inside the first seven and a half minutes.<\/p>\n
