Manchester City vs Tottenham Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

With their defeat at the hands of crosstown rivals Manchester United on Saturday, along with Arsenal\u2019s victory over Tottenham on Sunday also, Manchester City have slipped to second favorites in the title race for the first time all season.<\/p>\n

That will no doubt play on the minds of the City faithful here as they look to claw back a huge eight-point gap at the top of the table against the Gunners with a win here, and hope their rivals trip up against Manchester United at the weekend also.<\/p>\n

Tottenham fell to Arsenal themselves on Sunday in a deserved 2-0 defeat where Arsenal showed off their quality yet again with another fantastic performance, and Spurs will hope for a much better showing against Manchester City on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Tottenham own an absolutely terrific record over Manchester City in recent seasons, winning four of their last five games against them in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Tottenham Tight Defensively<\/h3>\n

Despite Hugo Lloris\u2019 disastrous own goal on Sunday against Arsenal, this Tottenham defense has for the most part been tight on the road this year, allowing the 5th fewest goals away from home all season, as well as just six goals total on the road since October 8th also, the 4th fewest mark in the league overall.<\/p>\n

Spurs will be hoping for more of the same here as they\u2019ve shut out Manchester City in three of their last four Premier League victories over them as well.<\/p>\n

City Can’t Afford Any More Slip-Ups<\/h3>\n

In what looked like a fairly disjointed effort on Saturday against Manchester United, City will need to circle this game as a must-win here if they\u2019re going to have any chance of reclaiming their Premier League crown come May.<\/p>\n

What Manchester City can continue to rely on however is a dominant attack that has banked over two goals per game at home over their last five league starts, and that ranks 1st in the league on offensive xG this season also.<\/p>\n

Manchester City vs Tottenham Prediction<\/h2>\n

While Manchester City have been creating plenty of chances of late, they haven\u2019t always been converting them, and face a Tottenham defense here on Thursday that has been amongst the best in the league away from home this year.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Manchester City have also been dominant defensively this season, owning the #1 ranking in defensive xGA this year on chances allowed, and have given up more than one goal to an opponent in the Premier League at home just once since the start of October as well.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re taking the Under 3.25 goals in this one on the alternative line at -145 as both teams bring in a much better than advertised defense here on Thursday, and we expect this one to be a much cagier affair than anticipated between these two.<\/p>\n
