St. Louis Blues vs Ottawa Senators Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

Both the Ottawa Senators and St. Louis Blues have been on very similar trajectories this season, with records that mostly resemble each other, and with two wins apiece from each of their last five games respectively, Monday\u2019s game is sure to be an interesting one.<\/p>\n

The Ottawa Senators could sure do with a bounce back in this one after getting drubbed 7-0 by the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.<\/p>\n

St. Louis meanwhile comes off back-to-back losses against Calgary and Tampa Bay respectively, allowing four goals in each game.<\/p>\n

This will be the teams\u2019 first meeting this season after they split their series 1-1 last year. The Senators have won five of the last seven in this venue against the Blues however.<\/p>\n

Defense – Advantage Senators<\/h3>\n

Giving up seven goals or more in two of their last four games may not inspire much confidence in this Ottawa Senators defense from the outset, but they have been limiting opponent chances at an inordinately high rate this season.<\/p>\n

The Senators rank top five in the league on defensive xGA this year, and top six on scoring chances allowed also, a far cry from the Blues 31st ranking in both categories this season, so Ottawa owns a huge defensive edge ahead of Monday’s clash.<\/p>\n

Games Not All About Defense<\/h3>\n

While the Ottawa Senators may hold the clear defensive advantage in this one, in offense it\u2019s a much different story as the Blues have been converting chances at an extraordinarily high clip this season.<\/p>\n

The Blues rank top ten in the league this season in total shot conversion percentage, as well as 5th in high-danger conversion percentage also, far higher than Ottawa’s lowly 30th ranking in that same category this year.<\/p>\n

St. Louis Blues vs Ottawa Senators Prediction<\/h2>\n

This is a really tricky game to call as it really does pit offense versus defense here on Monday night in the Enterprise Center.<\/p>\n

However, we\u2019re going to lean towards the home team in this one as while the Senators defense has mainly been on point this season, a huge concern for them is their high-danger opponent conversion percentage that ranks 31st in the league overall allowing 12.8% to opponents on average, an area the Blues have feasted on in offense this season.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll take a shot with the St. Louis Blues in this one to win outright at home on Monday against the Ottawa Senators.<\/p>\n
