Manchester United vs Manchester City Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

The 52nd edition of the Manchester Derby in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Both teams were in action midweek in the EFL Cup and on Tuesday, United did what was expected of them as they won 3-0 over League One side, Charlton. It wasn\u2019t easy though and they held onto a 1-0 lead in the second half before Rashford scored two late goals to put it away.<\/p>\n

As expected, United rotated their starting XI but did have to bring on some of the first team in the second half to put that game away. However, City did not do what was expected of them on Wednesday as they went to Southampton and lost 0-2.<\/p>\n

Like United, they also rotated their starting XI, but as we have seen before with City\u2019s depth, even a rotated side can get a result against EPL sides.<\/p>\n

That was not the case though as Southampton played very well and didn\u2019t allow a single shot on target to the Cityzens, even as Pep went to his bench in the second half to bring on Haaland and company.<\/p>\n

United Winless Last Three Against City<\/h3>\n

Pep is never OK with losing and even though it is just a Cup match, you know he still wanted to win, especially because he fielded a strong side to get past Liverpool in the prior round.<\/p>\n

Now he must regroup and game plan for United who are surging as Rashford is coming into his own looking like one of the best players in the league.<\/p>\n

City has won the last three over United, including a 6-3 win back in October but that was right in the middle of the Ronaldo drama. You can\u2019t hang your hat on last year\u2019s results either as United were just not very good under Solskjaer, and then Rangnick.<\/p>\n

This United team is certainly capable of getting a result though, especially after seeing City fail to get past Southampton while also settling for a 1-1 draw vs Everton on New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n

Manchester United vs Manchester City Prediction<\/h2>\n

The simplest way to play this is to just take United with the head start on the Double Chance (United Win or Draw), also listed as +0.5 on the Asian Handicap.<\/p>\n

I also don\u2019t expect this to be a high-scoring match. Yes, I know it was 6-3 earlier this season, and last year\u2019s 2nd meeting was a 4-1 City win, but before that Derby finished with six straight matches finishing Under 2.5 goals. So paid United with Under 3.5 goals for a little extra oomph.<\/p>\n
