Troyes vs Marseille Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

Third-place Marseille will look to make it three wins from three since returning from the international break this Wednesday as they take on struggling Troyes on the road, with Marseille looking to close the gap on the top two of Lens and PSG in French Ligue 1.<\/p>\n

Marseille are currently on the longest win streak in French Ligue 1 right now and put six goals past Toulouse two weeks ago in a rout, so it\u2019s no surprise to see them enter Wednesday\u2019s game as fairly substantial road favorites for this one.<\/p>\n

They face a Troyes team over in the Stade de l\u2019Aube that comes off a solid 3-2 win over Strasbourg themselves last week, and who have shown themselves hard to beat this season as it is, with only one team managing to beat them on home soil all year.<\/p>\n

Marseille themselves have only beaten Troyes in just one of their last five visits to the northeastern club, with a 1-1 draw the best they could muster in their last meeting here back in February of last year.<\/p>\n

Marseille Letting Their Offense Do The Talking<\/h3>\n

The Olympians made some savvy moves in the summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of former Arsenal star frontman Alexis Sanchez on a free transfer deal, a player that has already bagged five goals for the club this season with current Arsenal midfielder Nuno Tavares also netting five goals on his current loan deal.<\/p>\n

Therefore it\u2019s no surprise to see Marseille dominate the offensive charts this year, with only champions PSG netting more goals and having a higher xG than Marseille have this season.<\/p>\n

Troyes Underperforming At The Back This Year<\/h3>\n

When you\u2019ve allowed 21 goals from open play this season, as well as averaging 14.1 shots per game to opponents also, it\u2019s no surprise to see your defense struggle this year, with only two teams giving up more total goals on the season than Troyes currently have.<\/p>\n

A large part of those issues stems from a defensive xGA rating for Troyes this season that sees them rank 2nd from bottom in the league, and is clearly an area manager Patrick Kisnorbo will need to focus on improving moving forward.<\/p>\n

Troyes vs Marseille Prediction<\/h2>\n

Despite Troyes defensive issues this season, at home they\u2019ve been much improved, with only 11 of their 33 league goals given up this year coming inside the Stade de l\u2019Aube.<\/p>\n

On top of that, Troyes have tended to play Marseille tight in this fixture historically, lacking the star power Marseille have up front, and have looked to grind out results against the superior team instead, often to their benefit.<\/p>\n

Eight of the last nine meetings between the two sides in this venue have seen Under 2.5 goals scored, and we\u2019re expecting another cagey affair here on Wednesday between the two clubs also.<\/p>\n
