Detroit Red Wings vs New Jersey Devils Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

After a red-hot start to the season, the New Jersey Devils have been in a major slump since the start of December, losing nine of their last eleven games overall.<\/p>\n

They go on the road to face a Detroit Red Wings team on Wednesday who were in a major slump themselves to start December, losing six straight games, but have since turned things around to win three of their last four.<\/p>\n

These two teams have played each other twice already this season, with both teams surprisingly losing heavily on home ice by three and four-goal margins respectively, a trend that doesn\u2019t bode well for Detroit ahead of this one should it continue.<\/p>\n

Not All Doom And Gloom For New Jersey<\/h3>\n

Despite their extended losing stretch over the last month, that run hasn\u2019t seemed to have dampened spirits in the New Jersey Devils camp all that much as they\u2019ve continued to play hard in games and have shown a ton of grit and character also.<\/p>\n

New Jersey beat Florida two weeks ago before losing to Boston in a very competitive first matchup. Following that series against the Bruins, the Devils came back to beat a solid Pittsburgh team before battling back to tie the game on three separate occasions against one of the most elite teams in the league this year in Carolina before eventually losing in a shootout.<\/p>\n

This character that bodes well for New Jersey moving forward to snap out of their current funk sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

Offense A Huge Concern For Red Wings This Season<\/h3>\n

Despite averaging 4.75 goals per game over their last four starts, that hasn\u2019t always been the case for Detroit this year as they’ve averaged one of the lowest shots counts in the entire league.<\/p>\n

Another huge problem for the Red Wings this season is the fact they\u2019re not generating many chances up top either, ranking 30th on overall offensive xG and 29th on high-danger creation rate also, with a massive over-reliance on a high conversion percentage getting them by in games.<\/p>\n

Detroit Red Wings vs New Jersey Devils Prediction<\/h2>\n

We\u2019ve been impressed with the New Jersey Devils of late despite their recent losing stretch as they\u2019ve continued to play hard in games and face a Detroit Red Wings team later tonight that is getting by on an over-inflated conversion percentage over their last few starts, something that can’t last especially as they go up against the better teams in the league.<\/p>\n

New Jersey certainly qualifies as one of those teams as they rank as one of the best defensive units in the entire league this season, ranking 2nd on opponent shots per game and 1st on defensive xGA this season.
