Southampton vs Nottm Forest Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

Huge game at St. Mary\u2019s on Wednesday night as two teams mired in a relegation dogfight this season clash for all the spoils this midweek over in the EPL.<\/p>\n

The home side Southampton sit last in the table overall and have lost five straight games in the league as new manager Nathan Jones faces a mammoth task to help keep this team afloat for next season.<\/p>\n

Facing them are a Nottingham Forest side not doing a whole pile better this season, with just two points separating either side heading into this one, and boss Steve Cooper will know a slip-up from his boys in this one could potentially see them go bottom of the table depending on what happens in the other Wolves\/Aston Villa game on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The two teams haven\u2019t faced each other in the English top flight since the late 1990s, with each of their last four head-to-heads coming down in the English Championship with two wins gained apiece.<\/p>\n

Road Form A Real Concern For Forest<\/h3>\n

After battling to a 1-1 draw against Chelsea over the weekend, you\u2019d be forgiven for thinking the Tricky Trees have what it takes to survive in the EPL this season, but that result came at home for Forest, a venue where they\u2019ve been particularly strong in this year.<\/p>\n

On the road however has been a much different story, with the two-time European Cup winners ranking as the only winless team in the league this year with a paltry 2 points banked from a possible 24 and the league\u2019s worst overall goal differential at -21 also.<\/p>\n

2023 A Welcome Sight For Leicester<\/h3>\n

Similar to how Nottingham Forest have been the worst road team in the league this year, Southampton have been the worst home team, with just one win banked all year on the south coast, that coming all the way back in August as well.<\/p>\n

What has contributed massively to that factor is a defense that has allowed 1.88 goals per game to opponents at home this year, the league’s highest overall goals-against rate, and an even worse 3.5 goals per game across their last two starts there as well.<\/p>\n

So shoring up this lackluster Saints backline is no doubt priority number one for Nathan Jones moving forward this season.<\/p>\n

Southampton vs Nottm Forest <\/span>Prediction<\/span><\/h2>\n

This is a huge game for both clubs here on Wednesday, and despite both teams being poor defensively this year, especially in their respective home\/away forms, we nevertheless expect this one to be played at a much more sedate pace and to cash the Under in this one as a result.<\/p>\n

Both managers will know an outright loss here will be incredibly hard to bounce back from seeing as both teams have potentially winnable games on deck for next week as well, with Forest returning home to face Leicester City, a venue where they\u2019ve been at their best this season, and Southampton going on the road against an out of sorts Everton team as well, an area where they\u2019ve also equally been at their best this season.<\/p>\n

We’re expecting a cagey game here at St. Mary\u2019s on Wednesday and for the Under 2.5 goals to cash in the EPL matchup between Nottingham Forest and Southampton this week.<\/p>\n
