Charlotte Hornets vs Los Angeles Lakers Betting Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Los Angeles Lakers wrap up a five game road trip in Charlotte against the Hornets on Monday evening. The Hornets are coming off a 123-106 loss at home against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The Lakers prevailed in Atlanta over the Hawks 130-121 on Friday night. This is second and final meeting between these interconference rivals, Charlotte won a 134-130 shootout in Los Angeles on December 23rd. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST\/4:00 PST from the Spectrum Center.<\/p>\n

Balling Out<\/h3>\n

The Charlotte Hornets record dipped to 10-27 on the season after losing by 17 points against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Nets had a tremendous shooting advantage, going 48-80 (60%) compared to Charlotte going 38-96 (39.6%). Lamelo Ball continued his torrid pace with a team high 23 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds.<\/p>\n

Mason Plumlee recorded a 22 point, 10 rebound double-double while Terry Rozier chipped in with 16 points. Charlotte ranks only 25th in scoring with 111.3 points a game on only 44.5% from the field. The Hornets rank similar to the Lakers defensively.<\/p>\n

They currently sit at 26th in defensive rating and 28th in scoring with 118 points allowed per game. Kelly Oubre Jr has already been ruled out for this contest with a hand injury while Dennis Smith Jr is questionable with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n

Lakers Need Defensive Improvements<\/h3>\n

The Los Angeles Lakers moved up to 15-21 on the season after outscoring the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. The Lakers dominated the paint, outscoring Atlanta 74-56 and out-rebounded them 55-41.<\/p>\n

LeBron James fell an assist shy of a triple-double with a game-high 47 points along with 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Thomas Bryant added a 19 point, 17 rebound double-double while Russell Westbrook added 14 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds off the bench.<\/p>\n

The Lakers are 2-2 and this is the fifth and final game of their road trip. Los Angeles ranks 7th in scoring with 116 points a game on 48.2% from the floor.<\/p>\n

They really struggled defensively, where they rank 27th with 117.7 points allowed per game and 20th in defensive rating. Lebron James (ankle) and Lonnie Walker IV (lower body) are both listed as probable for tonight’s contest and are the only players listed on the current injury report.<\/p>\n

Charlotte Hornets vs Los Angeles Lakers Single Game Parlay Prediction<\/h2>\n

This game is a virtual pick’em with the Charlotte Hornets favored by 1.5 points with a total set at 242. This should be an absolute scoring-fest with two bottom five defenses and a high-scoring Lakers team involved in this contest.<\/p>\n

The Hornets offensive attack has also improved as they rank 13th in scoring with over 116 points per game in their last 10 games. With all the scoring and no defense, this one is tailor made for a same game parlay.<\/p>\n

Let’s start with a superstar in Mason Plumlee.. all jokes aside you would be surprised how consistent he is with assists. He has amazingly cleared his assist line of 2.5 in 31-37 games (84%), lowered to 1.5 and he is near perfect at 36-37 (97%) with one in the only game he fell short.<\/p>\n

Same goes for Lamelo Ball when it comes to his points + rebounds + assists number set at 39.5. Drop it to 30+ PRA and he has eclipsed this number in 12 of 13 games for a 92% success rate. He only fell short in his first game of the season with 27 PRA.<\/p>\n

Lastly the Lebron James and his points prop is set high at 31.5. Drop it down to 24.5 and he has surpassed that point total in 20 of 28 games on the season (71%).<\/p>\n

More importantly James has cleared this low total in 10 straight games and all 9 games where Anthony Davis did not play. All three of these props are nearly perfect on the season and we get -125 for all three in a game with a total of 242.<\/p>\n
