Notre Dame vs South Carolina Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

You can’t help but shed a small tear for Shane Beamer<\/a>. His Gamecocks ended the regular season with back-to-back wins over top-10 teams and Spencer Rattler was showing flashes that previously made him the top player in the country.<\/p>\n

Beamer got paired up with Notre Dame in a dream bowl scenario where he could get more eyeballs on his budding program, but no one is sticking around.<\/p>\n

Rattler is going to play for the Gamecocks, but South Carolina will be very thin elsewhere.<\/p>\n

On the latest depth chart, Nate Adkins is the only tight end listed on the roster after catching eight passes in the regular season. Starting RB Marshawn Lloyd is in the transfer portal. Several other skill position players are also out for various reasons.<\/p>\n

Offensive lineman Dylan Wonnum, who has 40 career starts, has opted out. Three starters in the defensive secondary are out.<\/p>\n

Can The Gamecocks Win?  Notre Dame vs South Carolina Prediction<\/h2>\n

Beamer has kept his composure in media appearances leading up to the game, but he has every right to be a little annoyed because this is a very winnable game for the Gamecocks against a premier program. South Carolina football has been on an upswing and this could be a big feather in their cap\/helmet.<\/p>\n

On the other side, Notre Dame QB Drew Pyne is heading to Arizona State, and All-American TE Michael Mayer has opted out to prep for the NFL.<\/p>\n

Mayer’s NFL future has been well-documented for a while, but Pyne didn’t exactly leave his mark on the Irish record books in his Notre Dame football career.<\/p>\n

QB Tyler Buchner entered preseason camp as the presumed starter, but a shoulder injury forced him to miss the last ten games for the Irish.<\/p>\n

Buchner has been getting first-team reps in practice, and assuming all goes well leading up to the game, will regain his starting spot. Head coach Marcus Freeman and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees have sung Buchner’s praises in recovering for this game, but he still hasn’t taken a live hit on his surgically-repaired shoulder.<\/p>\n

Notre Dame vs South Carolina Prediction<\/h2>\n

Losing Mayer as a safety blanket is a big deal, but Buchner hasn’t played or practiced in almost four months. So starting with a fresh slate at receiver and tight end isn’t a complete disaster.<\/p>\n

Notre Dame lost some big names, but South Carolina lost a lot of names. As long as Buchner’s shoulder is up for the challenge, the Irish should have the depth advantage to take care of business in Jacksonville. Sharp money appears to have shown up on Notre Dame about 24 hours before kickoff.<\/p>\n
