Palermo vs Cagliari Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

Cagliari almost survived in Serie A last season, but they are not making a convincing arguement to return to the top flight of Italian soccer at the moment. Cagliari is currently languishing down in 11th position in the table after just one win in their last eight league games.<\/p>\n

On paper, a trip to 14th-place Palermo doesn’t look that difficult, but Palermo is playing much better as of late. After starting off the season incredibly slow, they have won three of their last seven games overall, and have lost just once at home since October 1.<\/p>\n

The recent head-to-head meetings between the two are firmly in Cagliari\u2019s favor, as the \u2018Gli Isolani\u2019 have gone unbeaten against Palermo since 2015, winning three of their last four.<\/p>\n

Cagliari Enjoying Positive Attack This Year<\/h3>\n

While Cagliari may have struggled on offense against the big boys up in Serie A last season, generating less than a goal per game in that league and ranking bottom-five on offensive xG generated, they\u2019ve had no such issues in Serie B this year.<\/p>\n

The Islanders have notched 20 goals already this season and rank as the fifth-best team in the league on offensive xG this year.<\/p>\n

Palermo Getting It Done On The Defensive End<\/h3>\n

Palermo has really blossomed on the defensive end this season, averaging less than a goal per game allowed to opponents this year at home, and they are arguably getting even stronger as the season has progressed. Over the last 370 minutes of competitive action inside the Stadio Renzo Barbera, Palermo has allowed just one goal.<\/p>\n

That defensive improvement has matched well with an attack led by Matteo Brunori at the other end that owns the league\u2019s highest striker contribution rate this season at 50-percent.<\/p>\n

Palermo vs Cagliari Prediction<\/h2>\n

Our numbers definitely highlight some value in taking Palermo in this spot at current odds of pick \u2018em on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Cagliari ranks just 15th in the league on recent six-game road form heading into this game, generating just 1.00 points per game across that run. They have kept just two clean sheets over that stretch as well.<\/p>\n

Palermo, meanwhile, have shown a marked improvement on defense over their last few games, especially at home. We believe they can generate yet another positive result at home here on Sunday against their island neighbors.<\/p>\n
