Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Clippers Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Los Angeles Clippers travel to FTX Arena for an interconference clash with the Miami Heat on Thursday night. The Heat were upset 116-96 at home by the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. The Clippers suffered a 116-111 overtime loss on the road against the Orlando Magic last night.<\/p>\n

This is the first of two games in a regular season series that they split 1-1 last year. They will meet again on January 2nd in Los Angeles. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST\/4:30 PST on NBATV.<\/p>\n

Heat Hit New Low Losing Against Detroit<\/h3>\n

The Miami Heat dropped to 11-14 on the season after running out of gas and losing by 20 points against the 7-19 Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. Tyler Herro led all scorers with 34 points on an impressive 12-17 from the field.<\/p>\n

Bam Adebayo recorded a 21 point 15 rebound double-double while Max Strus chipped in with 11 points. Jimmy Butler missed the game due to conditioning purposes.<\/p>\n

“We simply didn’t play well.” Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said after the game. “I thought we were stable defensively through three quarters, then the floodgates just opened.” The Heat rank 9th in defensive scoring with 110.2 points allowed per game on 47.3% from the floor.<\/p>\n

Offense has been tough to come by as they rank 28th with 108.3 points a game on 44.9% shooting. Butler along with center Dewayne Dedmon are both questionable for the contest. Max Strus & Victor Oladipo are both probable while Gabe Vincent has already been ruled out.<\/p>\n

Clippers Tricked By Magic In Overtime<\/h3>\n

The Los Angeles Clippers record dipped to 14-12 on the season after losing in overtime to the Orlando Magic. All five starters scored into double figures but the Florida State product Terance Mann led the Clippers with 19 points off the bench.<\/p>\n

Big man Ivica Zubac had a 16 point 13 rebound double-double while Nicolas Batum added 16 points and five assists. “I just thought that once we got the lead, we didn’t do a good job of playing the same way that got us the lead.” said Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue “We had 17 turnovers for 29 points.”<\/p>\n

The Clippers rank dead last in scoring with only 107.3 points a game on 46.6% shooting. Defense is their calling card with an average of 109.1 points allowed per game which ranks 5th in the NBA. Norman Powell missed the game against Orlando and is questionable for this game with a groin injury.<\/p>\n

John Wall, Luke Kennard and Marcus Morris Sr are all questionable for this game with various ailments. With this being the second game of a back-to-back, keep an eye out for Paul George & Kawhi Leonard as they just recently returned from injury.<\/p>\n

Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Clippers Player Prop Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Miami Heat are 4.5 point home favorites with a total of 215.5. We don’t have all of the player props available as both teams have several potential missing. Surprisingly, it seems as though Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are on track to play in this contest.<\/p>\n

The Clippers playing the second game of a back-to-back makes me immediately think unders and considered their team total, but it’s only 103.5. Instead I will pivot to Paul George who has a point total set at 21.5. George was an amazing over play prior to his injury but just hasn’t looked the same since.<\/p>\n

In his two games since coming back, he has scored only 19 & 11 points and that includes an overtime game last night. He also shot poorly, going only 3-12 from the field.<\/p>\n

Now he plays a hungry Heat team coming off two losses on the second night of an overtime back-to-back. This just doesn’t seem like the spot for him to right the ship.<\/p>\n
