Detroit Pistons vs Dallas Mavericks Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Dallas Mavericks travel to Detroit for a clash with the Pistons as the lone game on the Thursday night NBA docket. The Pistons were trucked by the New York Knicks 140-110 on Tuesday night dropping their record to 5-18 on the season.<\/p>\n

The Mavericks are coming off a dramatic 116-113 victory over the Golden State Warriors as they got back to .500 at 10-10. This is the first of two games in a regular season series that Dallas swept 2-0 last year. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST\/4:00 PST on NBATV.<\/p>\n

Mavericks With Signature Win Over Warriors<\/h3>\n

The Dallas Mavericks snapped a four game skid with a 116-113 victory over the Golden State Warriors. The Mavs led big early but had to cling to victory in the second half of a back-and-forth game.<\/p>\n

Luka Doncic led the way with a 41 point, 12 rebound, 12 assist triple-double. Tim Hardaway Jr added 22 points while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 14 points. Luka Doncic has averaged an impressive 33.5 points per game on an offense that ranks 25th with only 109.4 points per game on 46.7% from the field.<\/p>\n

Defense is the Mavericks calling card as they rank 4th with only 107.6 points allowed per game. Kemba Walker and McKinley Wright IV are both listed as day-to-day. Latest reports have added Christian Wood as questionable due to an illness.<\/p>\n

Pistons Sit In Last Place<\/h3>\n

The Detroit Pistons were supposed to be making improvements but they currently have the NBA’s worst record at 5-18 after being run off the court by the New York Knicks. The 140-110 loss to the Knicks was their third straight and 10th in their last 12 games.<\/p>\n

Isaiah “Beef Stew” Stewart led the Pistons with 19 points while Bojan Bogdonavic & Marvin Bagley III both added 13 points. Detroit has struggled offensively as they rank 27th with only 109.1 points per game on only 44.3% from the floor.<\/p>\n

Defense isn’t much better, they sit at 29th with 117.7 points allowed per game. They Pistons desperately need the help of their young guard Cade Cunningham but he remains out with a stress fracture on his shin. The rookie point guard Jaden Ivey is questionable with a knee issue.<\/p>\n

The Dallas Mavericks enter this contest as 8 point road favorites with a total of 221.5. It’s a tricky night in the NBA with only one lackluster game on the schedule. Points might be hard to come by in this one as Dallas plays elite defense while Detroit does nothing well.<\/p>\n

The Pistons are middle of the pack in pace while the Mavericks are dead last. Luka Doncic put on a clinic against his Conference rivals the Warriors.<\/p>\n

This seems like it could be a letdown spot or the Mavericks. I see this being a sloppy game with a potential blowout. I can see everyone going Mavericks -8 and Doncic over everything, if only it were that easy.<\/p>\n

Doncic can’t score and get assists every time down the court, let’s take a small play on his Points + Assists under 40.5. We will be holding our breath throughout the entire game with this one.<\/p>\n
