Cleveland Cavaliers vs Portland Trail Blazers Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Cleveland Cavaliers look to sweep a four game homestand as they welcome the Portland Trailblazers to Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The Trailblazers look to bounce back from a 119-111 road loss against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday evening. The Cavs took down the Atlanta Hawks 114-102 to win their third straight home game.<\/p>\n

This will be the first of two interconference showdowns in a regular season series Cleveland swept 2-0 in the 2021-22 campaign. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM EST\/4:00 PST on Thanksgiving-eve.<\/p>\n

Cavalier Attitude At Home<\/h3>\n

The Cleveland Cavaliers hope to finish a perfect 4-0 on their current homestand after beating the Atlanta Hawks 114-102 on Monday. Donovan Mitchell led all scorers with 29 points on 11 of 22 from the field while adding nine assists.<\/p>\n

Darius Garland wasn’t very far behind with 26 points on 9 of 14 from the floor while adding 9 assists of his own. At 11-6 on the season the Cavs currently sit at 3rd place in the Eastern Conference behind only Boston & Milwaukee.<\/p>\n

Cleveland ranks 8th in scoring with 115.9 points a game on 48.4% shooting as a team. “Spida” Mitchell paces the team with 29.8 points a game on 49.8% from the floor.<\/p>\n

They play superior defense as they allow only 108.2 points a game, ranking them 6th in defensive scoring. Shooting guard Caris LeVert is listed as questionable with a nagging ankle injury while Dean Wade & Dylan Windler remain out.<\/p>\n

Portland Looks To Snap Three Game Skid<\/h3>\n

The Portland Trailblazers started the 2022-23 campaign hot as a pistol but an injured Damian Lillard may have finally caught up with them as they lost their 3rd straight game in Milwaukee against the Bucks.<\/p>\n

Anfernee Simons led all scorers with 29 points on 12 of 23 from the field. Jerami Grant chipped in with 18 points while Jusuf Nurkic added a 16 point 10 rebound double-double.<\/p>\n

Portland currently in 8th place in the Western Conference standings but sit only a game out of 1st place. The Portland offense ranks well below average in scoring at 21st with 109.9 points a game on 46.7% shooting.<\/p>\n

Simons paces the Blazers in scoring with 22.9 points per game on 42.5% from the field. Defense has been where Blazers have made their mark as they surrender only 108.9 points a game, ranking 7th in defensive scoring.<\/p>\n

They have struggled to rebound as they rank 20th with only 43.1 boards per game. Guards Gary Payton II and Keon Johnson will will join Lillard on the injured list for Wednesday nights contest.<\/p>\n

The Cleveland Cavaliers are heavy home favorites with a spread of 8.5 and a total of 216.5. We mentioned Damian Lillard being out for this game and Anfernee Simons has been the main beneficiary from a scoring standpoint.<\/p>\n

He has cleared tonight’s scoring total of 24.5 in 6 of 10 games without Lillard on the court. The Cavaliers play excellent defense in the paint as well as on the perimeter.<\/p>\n

However Simons usage skyrockets in games without Lillard. The Blazers will struggle to score down low, making Simons over worth a play tonight.<\/p>\n
