Boise State vs Utah State Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

Friday\u2019s Boise State vs Utah State showdown in the Mountain West is one of a number of contests this weekend featuring a team that has already booked its place in a conference championship game. How will that affect the Broncos gameplan for this one?<\/p>\n

Boise State will take on Fresno State for the conference title next week, but that shouldn\u2019t distract the Broncos too much as tthey\u2019ll no doubt want to come into that contest in the best possible form. A comprehensive win at home this weekend against another Mountain West rival would go a long way to providing that.<\/p>\n

Utah State is playing its best football of the season with wins in five of its last six games, including a victory over San Jose State last week.<\/p>\n

Boise has won 21 of 26 meetings in this series since 1977, including each of the last six. The Broncos have won those six by an average margin of 22.5 points per game.<\/p>\n

Aggies Getting Run Over This Season<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s been a tale of two units for Utah State\u2019s defense this season. The Aggies are above average in a number of passing categories, but have gotten crushed on the ground.<\/p>\n

Utah State\u2019s defense is allowing a mammoth 197.4 yards per game on the ground this season (114th in the country).<\/p>\n

That number gets even worse when Aggies have gone on the road, allowing 212.4 yards per game. That\u2019s a bad combination when you’re about to face a rushing offense as dynamic as Boise State\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Boise State Getting It Done On Defense<\/h3>\n

The Broncos have been exceptional on defense, allowing just 279.3 yards per game, which is the fifth-best mark in the country. What separates the Broncos\u2019 defense in particular is their passing defense which ranks No. 2 in passing yards allowed at 147.3 yards per game.<\/p>\n

Boise State vs Utah State Prediction<\/h2>\n

This matchup all comes down to how Boise State approaches this game because if they\u2019re dialed in here, they have the capability to blow the doors off Utah State in this spot by 20+ points.<\/p>\n

However, if they\u2019re caught ball-napping and looking ahead to next week\u2019s title game against Fresno State instead, Utah State might well sneak in the back door in this one. Because of that, we’re going to avoid taking a side on Friday.<\/p>\n

The under looks like the most appealing play in this one as we just don\u2019t see Utah State scoring many points here against a Broncos defense that has been absolutely lights out all season long.<\/p>\n

Utah State\u2019s rushing offense has been non-existent for most of this season, and Boise State will know how to defend a one-dimensional passing attack. Take the under on Friday between Utah State and Boise State in Albertson\u2019s Stadium.<\/p>\n
