This is a massive fight for both men as Lewis will be looking to grab some momentum and avoid losing his third straight fight, while Spivak can fast-track himself toward title contention with a win over the fan favourite.<\/p>\n

Since joining the UFC in 2019, Spivak has established himself as one of the more well-rounded heavyweights who can end a fight in a variety of ways. He owns a submission victory over fan-favorite Tai Tuivasa. He’s got three knockout victories. He’s gone the distance three times, with two wins by decision.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old Lewis has ten losses in his professional career, but surprisingly, none of them have come in Las Vegas. The Houston native is 8-0 in Sin City, and in his last trip to the Strip, broke the UFC record for most knockout wins with a first round destruction of Chris Daukaus.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Being an underdog in the betting market has become familiar territory for Lewis as he’s been in that role in four of his last five fights (going 2-2 as a ‘dog).<\/p>\n

The Black Beast<\/h3>\n

Derrick Lewis will no doubt be honoured in the Hall Of Fame one day for his unique personality and extreme power that has kept him in contention for the championship for years.<\/p>\n

He’s coming off back-to-back losses over excellent fighters in Sergei Pavlovich and Tuivasa. It’s a bit worrisome that he was finished in both fights, but that’s more so due to the heavyweight factor along with four-ounce gloves than it is me thinking he’s lost durability.<\/p>\n

In this matchup, Lewis will need to keep this fight standing and be patient to avoid the submission skills of Spivak.<\/p>\n

The Polar Bear<\/h3>\n

Spivak seems to be the forgotten man of the heavyweight division who is just starting to get his due at 27 years old. Spivak is an excellent fighter in all areas, he’s just lacking considerable fight experience and his heart\/durability haven’t been pushed and proven to this point in the UFC.<\/p>\n

He’s beaten excellent fighters in Augusto Sakai and Aleksei Olenik, but Spivak has also fallen short in the three biggest fights of his career as he got sparked against Tom Aspinall and Walt Harris, while Marcin Tybura just outworked him for three rounds.<\/p>\n

Spivak should be looking to make clean entries and get this fight on the mat where he’s can be in total control.<\/p>\n

Derrick Lewis vs Sergey Spivac Prediction<\/h2>\n

This is a tough matchup for both guys, as Lewis struggles with grapplers while Spivak struggles with power punchers.
