Miami Heat vs Phoenix Suns Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Phoenix Suns travel to FTX Arena for an interconference showdown with the Miami Heat on Monday night. The Heat crushed the Charlotte Hornets 132-115 at home on Saturday, winning their second straight game.<\/p>\n

The Suns are coming off a brutal 114-97 loss in Orlando against the Magic. This is the first of two meetings between these teams in a season series they split 1-1 last season.<\/p>\n

They meet again on January 6th in Phoenix. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST\/4:30 PST from South Beach.<\/p>\n

Heat Win Two Straight Against Hornets<\/h3>\n

The Miami Heat got off to a slow start with a 2-5 record but have won 4 of 6 games since including two straight against the Charlotte Hornets. They won 117-112 in overtime against Charlotte on Thursday and then again on Saturday in a 132-115 beat down.<\/p>\n

Max Strus led the way with 31 points on 8 of 14 from beyond the arc. Bam Adebayo added a 24 point 15 rebound double-double while Jimmy Butler and Gabe Vincent each added 20 points. Miami shot 53% from the field as a team and out-rebounded Charlotte 46-37.<\/p>\n

Tyler Herro missed the contest and remains questionable along with Dewayne Dedmon. The Heat rank 20th in scoring with 110.5 points per game and 10th in scoring defense as they hold opponents 109.8 points a game.<\/p>\n

Suns Stunned in Orlando<\/h3>\n

It looked like the Phoenix Suns ran out of gas in an ugly 114-97 loss on the road against the Orlando Magic. Cameron Payne led the team with 22 points while Devin Booker was next in line with only 17 points.<\/p>\n

Phoenix shot only 40% from the field and hit only 13 of 42 from three-point land while being out-rebounded 50-38. The Suns played without two starters in Chris Paul and Cam Johnson, while Johnson will remain out it’s possible Paul could return.<\/p>\n

Defense is the calling card for as they rank #1 in scoring defense with only 105.5 points allowed per game. However they rank middle of the pack in scoring with 112.5 points per game.<\/p>\n

Miami Heat vs Phoenix Suns – The Ultimate Betting Pick<\/h2>\n

The Miami Heat are favored by 2 points over the Phoenix Suns with a total set at 215. This sets up as a defensive battle as the Suns rank #1 in scoring defense while the Heat rank 10th.<\/p>\n

They also rank 4th and 8th in pace of play respectively and the Suns play at a slower pace without Chris Paul on the court. If Paul does return I can’t see him pushing to hard as he returns from a nagging heel injury. The Heat did score 132 in their last game as they shot the lights out.<\/p>\n

That’s not going to be the case tonight as both defenses should limit the opposition. This is one is going to turn into a rock fight and the Suns are short-handed regardless of Paul’s status. Let’s back the Heat to lock down the Suns at home and go under 107.5 on the Phoenix Suns team total.<\/p>\n
