Washington Capitals vs Tampa Bay Lightning Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

Two teams in some inconsistent form of late meet on Friday as the Tampa Bay Lightning, who have alternated wins and losses since the start of November, travel over to the capital to take on Washington later tonight.<\/p>\n

The Capitals for their part have won just one of their last six games overall as they slumped to yet another 4-1 defeat at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The two teams met three times last year with Tampa Bay winning two of the three games overall. However, all of those games last season were decided by no more than one goal in what were some extremely tight contests between the pair.<\/p>\n

Tampa Bay Slowed Down By Kane\u2019s Injury<\/h3>\n

After winning four of their previous five starts heading into Tuesday\u2019s matchup against the Edmonton Oilers, the Lightning definitely weren\u2019t short on confidence heading into that one.<\/p>\n

However, after starting fast in that game, putting up over twice the number of shots on Edmonton in the 1st period alone, Evander Kane\u2019s ugly injury for the Oilers slowed the pace of the game right down, with Lightning coach Jon Cooper describing it as the energy getting sucked out of the building.<\/p>\n

That slowed the Lightning\u2019s momentum in that one with the Oilers eventually going on to win the game 3-2, so Cooper and company will be hoping Tampa can get back to their usual high-tempo style later tonight against the Capitals.<\/p>\n

Washington Strong At Home Against The Lightning<\/h3>\n

Despite their recent struggles overall in the league, the Capitals have one huge factor to fall back on ahead of this clash on Friday and that\u2019s their tremendous head-to-head record against Tampa Bay over recent seasons.<\/p>\n

Washington have won 15 of their last 21 matchups against the Lightning inside the Capital One Arena, and will no doubt look to lean on that strong historical trend tonight also as they look to get back in the win column.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re going to side with the Tampa Bay Lightning in this one as mid-priced road favorites to get the road win over the Washington Capitals later tonight.<\/p>\n

Tampa Bay rank top ten in the league this year on overall offensive xG and on high-danger creation rate also.<\/p>\n
