Washington Wizards vs Dallas Mavericks Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Dallas Mavericks travel to the nations capital for an interconference showdown with the Washington Wizards on Thursday evening. The Wizards improved to 5-6 on the season with a 108-100 victory in Charlotte over the Hornets on Monday.<\/p>\n

The Mavericks lost on the road in Orlando 94-87 just last night. This is the first of two meetings in a head-to-head season series that Washington swept last season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST\/4:00 PST.<\/p>\n

Luka Leads The Mavericks<\/h3>\n

The Dallas Mavericks watched a four game winning streak fall by the wayside last night in Orlando. Spencer Dinwiddie paced the team with 29 points on 9 of 19 from the field. Luka Doncic added 24 points while leading the Mavs in assists and rebounds with 6 of each.<\/p>\n

Dallas is average offensively as they rank 13th in the league with 113 points a game. Doncic leads the league with an incredible 36 points a game.<\/p>\n

The defense has been extremely stingy, ranking 6th with 107.4 points allowed on only 33% shooting. Christian Wood and Davis Bertans are both sidelined for the road trip due to injury.<\/p>\n

Porzingis Revenge Game?<\/h3>\n

The Washington Wizards snapped a two game losing streak with a victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday. The Wiz won the game without the services of Bradley Beal who has already been ruled out for this contest due to Covid-19 protocols. Kyle Kuzma led the way with 20 points while Kristaps Porzingis added 19 points with a team leading 9 rebounds.<\/p>\n

Porzingis may have had this one circled on his calendar as the Mavericks traded him away at the deadline last season to make the team fit better around Doncic. Offense has been brutal for the Wiz as they rank 29th in the NBA with 107 points a game on a pathetic 30% from the field.<\/p>\n

They are more successful on defense where they rank 11th with 111.1 points a game. Other the Beal being out, Taj Gibson is day-to-day with a cervical strain.<\/p>\n

Washington Wizards vs Dallas Mavericks – The Ultimate Betting Pick<\/h2>\n

The Dallas Mavericks are favored by 3.5 with an interestingly low total 209. My first thought was going towards Porzingis without Beal, and against his former team.<\/p>\n

However the Mavericks do an amazing job against opposing centers and it’s doesn’t matter regardless as no Wizards player props have been released. Instead let’s focus on this elite Dallas defense.<\/p>\n

Washington will struggle to score without Beal and the Mavs will be motivated to show Porzingis that they are better without him. The Wizards team total is set low at 102.5 but I’m still going under.<\/p>\n
