Washington Capitals vs Edmonton Oilers Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Edmonton Oilers might well relish a return to the road on Monday night after suffering a two-game losing slide against the New Jersey Devils and Dallas Stars respectively over recent games inside Rogers Place.<\/p>\n

The Oilers have been on fire on the road however this season, winning each of their three games away from home and face a Washington Capitals team here on Monday that have lost four straight games themselves, two of which came in the capital.<\/p>\n

These two teams faced off against each other twice last season with Edmonton coming out victorious in both meetings.<\/p>\n

Oilers’ Offense Continues To Be Slick<\/h3>\n

Despite their recent two-game mini-losing streak, the Edmonton Oilers have continued to get it done on offense this season, especially with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl at the helm, and an offense that ranks 4th in the league on overall expected goals this season also.<\/p>\n

McDavid leads the league in both goals scored and total points this year, with Draisaitl right behind him on total points in second and tied for the most assists in the league this year as well.<\/p>\n

Capitals Failing To Capitalize On Leads<\/h3>\n

The Washington Capitals have taken the lead in each of their last four starts, all losses, scoring first in three of those four games also, so will no doubt look for a greater emphasis on defense later tonight, no small feat considering they face one of the most explosive offenses in the league.<\/p>\n

Not only do the Capitals need to work on a defense that ranks 25th in the league this season on overall defensive xGA, but also on an offense that has really struggled to gain traction this year.<\/p>\n

They rank 5th from bottom on overall offensive scoring along with registering a paltry 6.3% on high-danger conversion rate this season also, the league\u2019s second-lowest mark.<\/p>\n

Washington Capitals vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction<\/h2>\n

We\u2019re siding with the Edmonton Oilers here on Monday to bounce back with a win on the road against the Washington Capitals.<\/p>\n

While Jack Campbell\u2019s numbers in nets have been far from impressive for the Oilers this season, pretty much every other metric is in Edmonton\u2019s favor ahead of this game and the Oilers are a red-hot 35-16 in bounce-back situations where they allowed 5 or more goals to opponents in their previous start. <\/p>\n
