Portland Trail Blazers vs Memphis Grizzlies Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Memphis Grizzlies travel to the Moda Center in Portland for a Western Conference clash with the Trailblazers. The Blazers have gotten off to an amazing 5-1 start after beating the Houston Rockets 125-111 at home.<\/p>\n

The Grizzlies record dipped to 4-3 after a 121-105 road loss at the hands of the Utah Jazz on Monday night. This will be the first of three head-to-head meetings in a season series the Blazers won 2-1 last season. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST\/7:00 PST.<\/p>\n

No Dame No Problem<\/h3>\n

The Portland Trailblazers improved to 5-1 with a 125-111 victory over the lifeless Houston Rockets. Anfernee Simons was the games leading scorer with 30 points while going 7 for 15 from three-point land. Big man Jusuf Nurkic had 27 point 15 rebound double-double to go along with three blocks.<\/p>\n

The Blazers needed so some production to fill in for the missing Damian Lillard and the rookie Shaedon Sharpe contributed 14 points. It will be interesting to see if the Blazers can keep it up without Lillard in the long term.<\/p>\n

Portland ranks 8th in points allowed with only 110.5 a game. Offensively they rank 14th with115 3 points a game. However they are committing 16 turnovers a game which ranks 4th worst in the league.<\/p>\n

Grizzlies Drop Back-To-Back Against Rebuilding Jazz<\/h3>\n

The Memphis Grizzlies were embarrassed in their last two games against the Utah Jazz, losing 124-123 and most recently 121-105. Ja Morant led all scorers with 37 points on 12 for 18 from the field.<\/p>\n

Dillon Brooks chipped in with 19 points while Steven Adams patrolled the paint with a game high 9 rebounds. The Grizz went just 6 for 26 from beyond the arc while allowing Utah to hit 19 of 47 attempts.<\/p>\n

The Grizz are a high flying team that ranks 3rd with over 118 points a game. However they rank dead last in free throw percentage as they only shoot 68.1%. Defense has been a nightmare, as they rank dead last with 121.4 points allowed per game.<\/p>\n

Portland Trail Blazers vs Memphis Grizzlies Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Memphis Grizzlies are 4.5 point road favorites with a total of 226.5. The Portland Trailblazers have a significant injury to take into account with Lillard on the shelf. They didn’t miss a beat against Houston, scoring 125 points.<\/p>\n

Portland has an adjusted offensive rating of +2.4 with their 114+ points a game against a tough schedule they rank currently rank 4th in the power rankings. The Grizz are are committing 21.4 fouls a game and while the Blazers are middle of the pack at 78.5% from the charity stripe, it’s still a significant edge.<\/p>\n

This is also a tough scheduling spot for Memphis as they only had one day off while the Blazers have had four days off. This is Portlands last home game before a grueling 6 game road trip, so they should be eager to post a win.<\/p>\n

This Grizzlies defense hasn’t been able to stop anyone and I don’t think tonight’s the night on the road with less rest. Let’s go over on the Portland team total.<\/p>\n
