Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies Analysis<\/h3>\n

The 4-2 Memphis Grizzlies play their second straight game in Utah against the 5-2 Jazz on Monday night. The Jazz edged out the Grizzlies 124-123 on Saturday as Memphis was without their star in Ja Morant.<\/p>\n

The Grizzlies will hope to play at full strength and sneak out of town with a two game split. These teams will meet two more times this season at Memphis in January & February.<\/p>\n

The Grizzlies took the shortened head-to-head season series 2-1 last season. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 PM EST\/6:00 PST from Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n

Jazz Surprise<\/h3>\n

The Utah Jazz prevailed in the first head-to-head meeting between these teams in a 124-123 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. Lanky fowards Kelly Olynyk and Lauri Markkanen both scored 23 points while Markkanen also paced the team in rebounds with 9.<\/p>\n

The Jazz are off to an excellent start with wins over talented teams like the Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans and the Memphis Grizzlies. They have been a surprise after trading away their top two players in Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert during the offseason.<\/p>\n

The Jazz offense ranks 12th with 117 points a game while going 4-0 in games they score 120+ points. They rank below average defensively as they rank 19th with 114.9 points a game.<\/p>\n

Grizzlies Let Morant Down<\/h3>\n

The Memphis Grizzlies lost the first head-to-head matchup with the Jazz 124-123 as their superstar Ja Morant missed the game due to illness.<\/p>\n

The Grizz nearly won the game, which isn’t a surprise as they went 20-5 straight up and 18-7 against the spread without Morant last season. Desmond Bane was the games leading scorer with 32 points on 11 from 22 from the field and 3 for 9 from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n

Dillon Brooks and Tyus Jones both helped picking up the scoring with 30 and 23 points respectively. The Grizz defense has really struggled as they rank 27th with 121.5 points allowed per game. However they rank #1 in scoring as the only team with more than 120 points per game.<\/p>\n

Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Memphis Grizzlies are favored by 2 points over the Utah Jazz with a total set at 229.5. Unfortunately there aren’t any Grizzlies player props out yet as Ja Morant remains questionable with illness.<\/p>\n

This Grizzlies team has the ability to put up points by the boatload with or without Morant as they illustrated on Saturday night. The Grizz team total is set at 115.5, a total they have cleared in 4 of 6 games while landing on exactly 115 once.<\/p>\n

The Jazz have also given up 116+ points in 4 of 6 games this season. The Grizzlies got a look at this struggling defense on Saturday and posted 123 points without Morant. I’m fully expecting his return tonight but I’m confident in the Grizzlies scoring over 115 points regardless.<\/p>\n
