FC Porto vs Atletico Madrid Betting Analysis<\/h3>\n

Atletico may well still be smarting over their late penalty miss last week to send them out of this year’s Champions League competition, but they can\u2019t afford to let their despair play too much of a factor here as another loss might well see them exit their unsteady Europa League position as well.<\/p>\n

Just one point separates Atletico Madrid from Bayer Leverkusen for third spot in the table while a win for FC Porto in this game, and anything other than a win for Club Brugges in the other fixture, would see the Portuguese side finish top.<\/p>\n

Atletico Madrid have dominated recent meetings against FC Porto, winning four of their last five outright with one draw as well, including two wins in their last two meetings in Portugal also.<\/p>\n

Diego Simeone Edges Closer To Exit<\/h3>\n

Not only did that result against Bayer Leverkusen last week doom Atletico\u2019s chances of progression in this competition, plus cut them off from a massive stream of revenue also, Atletico slipped to yet another poor defeat at the weekend against relegation-battling Cadiz as well.<\/p>\n

That puts monumental pressure on Diego Simeone’s position at the club ahead of this clash, with calls for him to step down by fans and supporters alike becoming evermore louder. However, the Argentinian manager remains defiant and insists he\u2019ll see out his contract until 2024 and guide Atletico through the choppy waters they’re currently experiencing.<\/p>\n

A win here on Tuesday however will be absolutely paramount to those plans if he is to survive in his current position.<\/p>\n

Revenge On Spanish Rivals Has Spurred on Porto<\/h3>\n

A final group stage matchday showdown against Atletico Madrid is something Porto are all too familiar with after getting dumped out by their Spanish rivals in last year\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n

Porto sat one point ahead of Atletico heading into the final matchday at the Estadio do Drago, however, it mattered little as the Spanish giants claimed victory, with Atletico scoring three goals in what was a crazy finish to the game (three goals scored overall in injury time alone), to dump the Portuguese side out of the competition in front of their own fans.<\/p>\n

While we\u2019ll likely miss that same drama this year, with Porto\u2019s players seen actively celebrating after Yannick Carrasco\u2019s penalty miss last week for Atletico, there\u2019s definitely still no love lost between these two historic rivals on the European stage.<\/p>\n

FC Porto vs Atletico Madrid Prediction<\/h2>\n

Despite their premature exit from this year’s competition, we nevertheless like Atletico to rebound in this spot and get the win and cover on Tuesday night against FC Porto over in Portugal.<\/p>\n

Porto have been riding their luck over this group stage so far with Atletico enjoying over a full goal xGD\/90 rating over Porto in the group stage so far, yet failing to have that statistical dominance show up in actual results.<\/p>\n

Atletico have also posted the far stronger offensive xG and defensive xGA numbers over this campaign as well, with Porto being especially poor at home this season, getting smashed 4-0 by Club Brugges inside the Estadio do Drago earlier in the campaign and getting very fortunate with a win against Bayer Leverkusen also, a game they heavily lost the xG battle in.<\/p>\n
