BYU vs Utah State Analysis<\/h3>\n
Utah State heads to LaVell Edwards Stadium on Thursday night looking to halt a run of three-straight losses against a BYU side that has won three of their opening four contests this season.<\/p>\n
Utah State has failed to cover a point spread so far this season as they come off a 10-point home loss against UNLV last weekend.<\/p>\n
BYU, meanwhile, scored a double-digit win over Wyoming last week, but fell short of covering the hefty spread at home.<\/p>\n
BYU holds the 50-37 advantage historically in this series, but the road teams have done very well of late. BYU has won the last two in Logan, while Utah State captured the win the last time these teams played in Provo.<\/p>\n
Aggies Hoping For More In-State Success<\/h3>\n
Utah State has been a major thorn in the side of the Cougars over recent years. The Aggies have won two of the last three meetings against BYU in Provo, and have covered the spread in five of the last six on BYU’s home turf. Scoring on the road has not been an issue for the Aggies in this series, as they’ve scored at least 40 points in each of their last two wins against BYU.<\/p>\n
Hall Continuing To Get Better for Cougs<\/h3>\n
After back-to-back 260+ yard passing games to open up the season against South Florida and Baylor, Jaren Hall has continued to get even more dangerous through the air with each subsequent game.<\/p>\n
A 305-yard effort against Oregon two weeks ago was eclipsed yet again with a 337-yard effort against Wyoming last week with a QBR rating of 91.1 also as the Utah native continues to be a serious threat for opposing defenses this season.<\/p>\n
BYU vs Utah State Prediction<\/h2>\n
BYU has put up some serious offensive numbers so far this season, and with Jaren Hall continuing to look better with each passing game, that high-offense output looks set to continue here against a Utah State defense that has failed to really contain anybody this season.<\/p>\n
The Aggies allowed 20 points to a UConn team in Week 0, a mark that UConn has not come close to eclipsing against any other FBS-level opponent.<\/p>\n
Utah State also allowed 35 points to Weber State three weeks ago as well, along with getting blown out by 55 points against Alabama in the subsequent week. It\u2019s difficult to see where exactly they can slow this Cougars’ offense down here on Thursday.<\/p>\n
