New York Mets Analysis<\/h3>\n

Let’s start with Max Scherzer, he comes off the IL for his first action since September 3rd and I highly doubt he’s 100 percent because it’s an oblique injury and those really don’t go away.<\/p>\n

It’s why Scherzer has been on the IL a couple times this season so the Mets HAVE to be cautious and my guess is that translates to some sort of a pitch count.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee Brewers Analysis<\/h3>\n

Next we have the Brewers, they are 7-3 in their last 10 games and it’s a \u201cmust win\u201d of sorts as they continue to chase the Padres and Phillies for the final Wild Card spot. If you watch WagerTalk programming you have probably heard me talk about Milwaukee starter Corbin Burnes a bunch as he was my preseason pick to win the Cy Young this season.<\/p>\n

That’s not going to happen, but he’s still having an excellent 2022 with a sparkling 0.98 WHIP and the Mets haven’t hit him AT ALL. Burnes has a 1.93 ERA against the Mets across three career starts and he’s been lights out in his past couple so I’ll take my chances with Burnes in a huge spot here.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee Brewers vs New York Mets Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Mets just swept the Pirates so it’s possible they come out a bit flat and I think they pay for it against a Brewers team that’s been rounding into form (finally) over the past couple weeks.<\/p>\n

Christian Yelich is hitting .306 over his past nine game and has great numbers against Scherzer, when he goes this Brewers offense goes and I like the home team to get it done at a very fair price here.<\/p>\n
