Chicago White Sox vs Colorado Rockies Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Colorado Rockies begin a short two game interleague series against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday evening from Guaranteed Rate Field. The White Sox fell just short of a four game sweep over the Oakland Athletics after losing 10-3 on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The Rockies also fell one game short of a three game sweep after being doubled up 12-6 by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Chicago will start the 26 year-old righty Michael Kopech while Chad Kuhl toes the rubber for Colorado. First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 PM EST\/5:10 PST.<\/p>\n

Kuhl’s Rocky Road<\/h3>\n

The Colorado Rockies will probably finish the season in dead last place of the National League West as they currently sit 5.5 games behind the Arizona Diamondbacks in the division. Their record fell to 61-80 after losing 12-6 on Sunday afternoon against the same Diamondbacks team.<\/p>\n

Starter Ryan Feltner only lasted 2.2 innings while allowing four runs on four hits and four walks. Ryan McMahon went 2 for 4 while hitting his 16th home run of the season. On the season, the Rockies offense has hovered around top ten in runs scored, OPS & RBI but are bottom ten in home runs.<\/p>\n

They are bottom five in runs allowed, team ERA and the WHIP which isn’t a surprise considering they play half their games at hitter-friendly Coors Field.<\/p>\n

The veteran righty Chad Kuhl gets the nod for the Rockies on Tuesday night. He is 6-8 on the season with a 5.38 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and .275 OBA. He only lasted 4.1 innings while allowing five runs on six hits in his last outing against the Milwaukee Brewers.<\/p>\n

White Sox In Hot Pursuit Of Guardians<\/h3>\n

It seems like the Chicago White Sox will need to win their division in order to make the playoffs. They currently sit three games behind the Cleveland Guardians and two games ahead of the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central.<\/p>\n

The Pale Hose fell to 72-69 after losing 10-3 in Oakland on Sunday. Johnny Cueto was rocked for seven runs (five earned) on eight hits and a walk across only 4.2 innings of work. Eloy Jimenez went 2 for 4 with a double and Jose Abreu had an RBI double.<\/p>\n

Chicago has been middle of the pack in categories like runs scored, RBI and OPS while ranking top three in hits and batting average.<\/p>\n

The youngster Michael Kopech will take the bump for Chicago on Tuesday evening. Kopech was knocked around for four hits and four walks across only 3.2 innings in his last start against the Seattle Mariners. He is 4-9 on the season with a 3.78 ERA and 1.22 WHIP.<\/p>\n

Chicago White Sox vs Colorado Rockies Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Chicago White Sox are heavy home favorites with a money line set at -195 while the Colorado Rockies sit at +165 with a total of 8.5.<\/p>\n

This is a matchup between two vulnerable starting pitchers who will struggle despite the fact that neither team really crushes right-handed pitching. Chad Kuhl is surprisingly worse on the road with 6.00 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and .284 OBA in 13 road starts.<\/p>\n

Kuhl has very weak metrics and there isn’t anything to suggest an improvement is on the horizon. He is backed by a bullpen ranking 29th in terms of ERA. The White Sox are playing solid ball and should be able to feast on this weak staff.<\/p>\n

Michael Kopech has been inconsistent and has struggled with control as he allowed four free passes in his return from the IL last week against the Seattle Mariners. Kopechs numbers also suggest slight regression as he has a 4.50 FIP but 4.88 xFIP. The Rockies should be able to put up their share to help us get up and over the total of 8.5.<\/p>\n
