In what would have been one of the biggest sports betting (and sports in general) storylines of all time, the Raiders and Chargers simply needed to tie in Week 18 last year to ensure that both teams would make the playoffs. The stars were in alignment and the game went to overtime, but the Raiders elected to go for the win and knock out their AFC West rivals. The Chargers fell short of the playoffs last season with an offense that scored 27.9 points per game and produced highlight after highlight. Their defense and close-game decision-making let them down week-after-week, and they don’t come into this season with much change in that regard as they’re still built around the same core.<\/p>\n
The Chargers are featured as must-watch this year with an offense featuring MVP favorite Justin Herbert at the helm with playmakers all around him like Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler and Mike Williams to name a few.<\/p>\n
Overcoming Adversity<\/h3>\n
The Raiders became a very easy team to cheer for as it felt like they dealt with roadblock after roadblock and never failed to pull themselves off the mat and come back better. The Raiders fell short to the AFC champion Bengals in a very competitive game and have high hopes for newly-hired offensive specialist Josh Mcdaniels as their new head coach while also trading for All-Pro and future Hall Of Famer Davante Adams.<\/p>\n

These teams combined for 67 points in their last matchup, and over the offseason, I suspect both offensive groups have gotten even better and I don’t expect a significant leap from either team on defense.
