Coastal Carolina vs Army Analysis<\/h3>\n

The Black Knights registered an 8-4 regular season record last year before coming up big in the Armed Forces Bowl against Missouri, winning 24-22, which was their first win over an SEC team since 2009.<\/p>\n

Coastal Carolina, meanwhile, put up a stellar 10-2 record on the season, topped off with a Cure Bowl victory over Northern Illinois to cap off another successful year.<\/p>\n

The two sides have never met in college football action prior to Saturday’s first meeting, however, Army has gone 3-1 against Sun Belt opposition since 2014 under head coach Jeff Monken.<\/p>\n

Army\u2019s Formidable Ground Game<\/h3>\n

With their triple-option offense, Army has numerous weapons at their disposal in this one, especially with QB Christian Anderson throwing for five touchdowns of 34 yards or more last season along with three 50+ yard rushing touchdowns as well.<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s in their run game where Army really shines, boasting the nation’s second-best rushing offense last year at 280.6 yards per game on average.<\/p>\n

Chanticleers Continue To Get It Done In The Sun Belt<\/h3>\n

After yet another 11-game winning season in 2021 following on from 2020\u2019s success, Coastal Carolina now boasts a red-hot 22-3 mark since the start of the 2020 season, the third-best winning percentage out of any FBS program over that same time span.<\/p>\n

A large part of that success is from an offense that has absolutely hummed under QB Grayson McCall, putting up the nation\u2019s fifth-highest scoring offense last year at 40.9 points per game.<\/p>\n

Coastal Carolina vs Army Prediction<\/h2>\n

We\u2019re going with the under 54 points<\/strong> in this one on Saturday between the Black Knights and the Chanticleers.<\/p>\n

Army passed for just 94.8 yards per game last year through the air, good for just 129th in the country, with only Navy putting up less overall passing yards on the season. This is an Army team built around the run, and they face a Chanticleers side here on Saturday that ranked top-30 in total opponent rushing first downs last year, so they definitely won’t have it all their own way in this one.<\/p>\n
