The Steelers are coming off the very rare trifecta in finishes the last three weeks…a Win, Tie and Loss. The Bengals are coming off a dominating win against a Raiders team that looks very close to giving up on the season, but lost big to Cleveland and to the Jets the previous two weeks. Maybe the bye week helped them out as they came out strong against Las Vegas, and they’ll need to stay focused as they have a really tough schedule upcoming starting with Pittsburgh, then LAC, SF, DEN, BALT, KC, CLE. Pittsburgh is in the same position as they get Cincy followed by BALT, MIN, TEN, KC, CLE, and BALT. So this game is crucial for both.

The Bengals came out of the bye week with intentions on running the ball, and they did exceptional with it as Mixon went for 123 yards on the ground. Pittsburgh is a great rush defense, but last week gave up a shocking 90 yards to Justin Herbert. The running backs only combined for 17 rushes for 69 yards rushing, but the secondary of Pittsburg was terrible as Herbert went for 382 yards passing. Looking at the Pittsburgh stats, on paper they appear to get great at pass defense, but before Herbert they faced Jared Goff, Justin Fields, Baker Mayfield, Geno Smith and Teddy Bridgewater.

Based on what Herbert did and the previous competition, I believe Cincy may have their eyes set on passing the ball and mixing in Mixon for a balanced attack, and with Pittsburgh only allowing 90 yards a game rushing it could be a tough, physical matchup at the line of scrimmage. Burrow is having a good, not great year and only has two games over 300 yards this year. He didn’t need to do much last week against the Raiders, but moving forward they’re going to need him to perform well.

For the Pittsburgh offense, it’s been reliant on Najee Harris and I predicted last week he was being used too much and to expect lower production. Before going out of the game, he only averaged 3.3 yards a carry on 12 carries, and only averaged 4 yards a reception. Harris should be ok to play this week, and they’ll need him as Roethlisberger has been less than impressive this year. He had a good game against the Chargers as he utilized short passes and Yards After Catch to accumulate 273 yards passing. He still has gone six games in a row without over 275 yards passing.

We are dealing with two teams who know each other very well, and who matchup very well against each other. Solid run games, above average wide receiving corps, and decent quarterbacks.

Just take the points with the Steelers. This is a close game, and the Steelers and Mike Tomlin are historically great as underdogs. Tomlin is above .500 straight up, and while Big Ben isn’t elite he’s still got something left in the tank. Getting over a field goal is a lot in a close rivalry game with divisional opponents who know each other so well. Value is on +4 with Pittsburgh, and if you’re taking the points…don’t forget to sprinkle the money line on Pittsburgh.

Official Play: Steelers +4

💰 Reminder: There are three editions of #BetOnIt this week: 1) College; 2) Thanksgiving games; 3) Sunday games.
