The Toronto Blue Jays currently occupy one of the three Wild Card spots with a 2.5 game lead over the Baltimore Orioles. They increased that lead last night after taking advantage of an eight run 3rd inning and demolishing the Red Sox 9-3.<\/p>\n
Ross Stripling has somehow become untouchable since returning from the IL. Last night he scattered six hits across six innings while allowing only one run. Basically every player on the team had multiple hits, but we’ll give George Springer offensive standout going 2 for 5 with a triple and three RBI. It must be nice to watch a team play up to their potential.<\/p>\n
The Toronto offense remains one of the top units in the league as they rank top five across the board. Jose Berrios was solid in his last start against an injury riddled New York Yankees team.<\/p>\n
However, August has been brutal on Berrios with an 8.69 ERA across 14+ innings of work. Berrios has struggled on the road with a 6.82, compared to a 4.10 home ERA.<\/p>\n
