Baltimore Orioles vs Chicago White Sox Analysis<\/h2>\n

The Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles begin a three game series with potential playoff implications on Tuesday night from Camden Yards. The Orioles record improved to 63-58 after winning two of three games against the Boston Red Sox this weekend.<\/p>\n

The White Sox lost 6-4 in a make-up game yesterday in Kansas City against the Royals. Baltimore prevailed in three of four head-to-head meetings at Guaranteed Rate Field back in June.<\/p>\n

Cy Young award candidate Dylan Cease will take the mound for Chicago, while Baltimore rides the hot hand of Austin Voth. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM EST\/4:10 PST.<\/p>\n

O’s Fight For W’s<\/h3>\n

The Baltimore Orioles currently sit 2.5 games short of a playoff spot after beating the Boston Red Sox 5-3 at the Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Designated hitter Anthony Santander went 3 for 5 while depositing an RBI double, while shortstop Jorge Mateo went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI from the nine hole. Dean Kremer turned in a solid outing with only one run allowed across 5.1 innings.<\/p>\n

Baltimore has went 5-5 in their last 10 games with a 63-58 record as a result. The O’s have enjoyed some home cooking as they are 35-23 at home and 28-35 away from the friendly confines of Camden Yards.
\nThe Baltimore offensive attack is below average compared to the rest of the league as they rank 17th in runs scored and 19th in OPS. The 30 year-old Austin Voth has pitched very well for the Orioles since being acquired from the Washington Nationals in early June.<\/p>\n

In 48 innings with the Orioles, the right handed starter has a 2.81 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. He is in solid form, giving up two runs or less in six of his last seven starts.<\/p>\n

White Sox Need Some Consistency<\/h3>\n

The Chicago White Sox record fell to 62-60 after losing 6-4 yesterday at Kauffman Stadium against the Kansas City Royals. It turned into a bullpen game after rookie starter gave up four runs before recording an out.<\/p>\n

The White Sox ended up needing to utilize eight different relievers and Joe Kelly took the loss after giving up two runs in the bottom of the eight inning.<\/p>\n

Jose Abreu reached base in all five of his plate appearances with three singles, two walks while scoring a run. The newly acquired shortstop Elvis Andrus went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI.<\/p>\n

The Pale Hose have went 6-4 in their last ten games and they currently sit three games behind the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Central and four games behind in the Wild Card race.<\/p>\n

They continue to inch closer to the offensive attack they were last season as they now rank 19th in both runs scored and OPS. Chicago will send their ace Dylan Cease to the hill on Tuesday night with hopes to right the ship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Baltimore Orioles vs Chicago White Sox Prediction<\/h2>\n

The Chicago White Sox are road favorites with a money line set at -145, while the Baltimore Orioles sit at +125 with a total of 7.5. It’s tough to pick against Cease, but Baltimore has been in better form and Voth has been underrated.<\/p>\n

The under is the best option here. Cease has a 2.09 ERA & 2.87 FIP while ranking top 10% in K% & xwOBA. The Orioles have been great this season, but their young lineup may struggle with Cease. The White Sox lineup has struggled to put up runs and Voth has a 2.81 ERA since joining Baltimore.<\/p>\n

Voth won’t go as deep into the game as Cease, but he is backed by one of the games elite bullpens. Let’s back Cease, Voth and the under here.<\/p>\n
