Valencia vs Girona Analysis<\/h3>\n

Last season\u2019s Segunda Division playoff winners Girona will be looking for a successful return to the Spanish top flight after two seasons spent down in the lower leagues.<\/p>\n

Standing in their way this weekend are a Valencia side who\u2019ll be disappointed with the way they finished off last season, picking up just one win across their last nine league games in all to close out the year.<\/p>\n

Girona and Valencia have split their last two meetings at the Estadio de Mestalla, with Girona picking up the most recent victory back in November 2018.<\/p>\n

Stuani Remains Dangerman For Girona<\/h3>\n

While no doubt at the backend of his career at this stage, Uruguayan striker Cristhian Stuani has nevertheless shown how dangerous he still is, bagging 23 league goals for Girona last season to rank as the league\u2019s top scorer.<\/p>\n

Not only was he last season’s league top scorer, Stuani also ranks as the club\u2019s highest-ever top scorer as well, with an incredible 107 goals scored for Girona over his career, surpassing the previous record set by Arcadi Camps.<\/p>\n

Valencia\u2019s defense will no doubt need to find some way to deal with Girona\u2019s influential captain in this one.<\/p>\n

Valencia Need A Huge Uptick In Home Form This Season<\/h3>\n

Valencia had one of the worst home records in the league last year, picking up just six wins total there all season.<\/p>\n

That record didn\u2019t get any better as the season wore on either, as Valencia had the league\u2019s 3rd worst record from January 1st on last season, amassing just two total wins at home over the final ten games of the season.<\/p>\n

New manager and AC Milan club legend Gennaro Gattuso will no doubt target Valencia\u2019s poor home form from last season, and use it as a huge focal point for this year.<\/p>\n

Valencia vs Girona Prediction<\/h3>\n

The Girona +0.5 is going off at plus money right now at time of writing and we really like the value on that line for Sunday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

Valencia\u2019s home form, especially over the back half of last season, was incredibly poor and Gattuso may well struggle to turn that around early on here as he comes off a sizeable coaching layoff and frankly has yet to prove himself at the highest levels in club management either.<\/p>\n

Girona will be set up to frustrate Valencia in this one and we\u2019re more than happy to take a piece of them catching a half-goal headstart here on the road on Sunday and get a result in this game, especially at plus money.<\/p>\n
