Antwerp vs Lillestrom Analysis<\/h3>\n

Antwerp are now a mammoth -4000 to qualify after dismantling Lillestrom in Norway in leg 1 last week, a result which has continued their undefeated streak across all competitions going back to May.<\/p>\n

The game was competitive early however with both teams going in level at the break. However, an Antwerp goal just five minutes after half-time opened the game up and Lillestrom were the ones forced into attack in order to try and grab an equalizer.<\/p>\n

They were caught out just four minutes from time however with another well-worked goal from Radja Nainggolan to complete his brace for the game and give Lillestrom a huge hurdle to climb ahead of leg 2.<\/p>\n

That leaves Lillestrom between a rock and a hard place in this one as they\u2019ll be forced to chase a game over in Belgium, against the league leaders no less, which will no doubt leave them vulnerable at the other end to Antwerp\u2019s counter-attacking capability.<\/p>\n

Lillestrom Starting To Come Unstuck<\/h3>\n

Sitting second in the table over in the Norweigian Eliteserien with a game in hand over league leaders Molde, Lillestrom are in prime position right now with just two league losses all season, a feat only matched by Molde and Rosenborg in the Norweigian Eliteserien this year.<\/p>\n

Yet the problem is that unlike Molde and Rosenborg, who suffered their two losses much earlier in the season, both of Lillestrom\u2019s two losses have come over just their last six games as the demands of league and European competition are starting to take their toll on this thin squad.<\/p>\n

Another uninspiring performance at the weekend against third-from-bottom Tromsoe, one in which Lillestrom needed a 94th-minute equalizer just to grab a draw in, doesn\u2019t exactly inspire a lot of confidence that they can turn things around ahead of Thursday\u2019s leg 2 clash either.<\/p>\n

The Van Bommel Effect<\/h3>\n

Former Champions League winner and World Cup finalist Mark van Bommel has enjoyed a red-hot start to his tenure as boss of Antwerp this season.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Reds\u2019 are on a ten-game undefeated run since van Bommel took charge of the club back at the start of July and have opened up their domestic campaign with three straight wins to sit top of the table.<\/p>\n

With Antwerp bagging four goals in their last home outing against Leuven at the weekend also, another hot start for the Belgian side in this one wouldn\u2019t come as a shock to anyone.<\/p>\n

Antwerp vs Lillestrom Prediction<\/h2>\n

Despite their already commanding position gained from last week\u2019s leg 1, it\u2019s hard not to look past Antwerp adding to that even further in this one, especially with how fluid they’ve looked in counter-attack.<\/p>\n

On top of that, Antwerp have been extremely solid at the back this season, giving up just one goal from open play all season (#1), and zero goals from counter-attacks also (#1), so they should be more than capable of containing any offensive threat Lillestrom can present here.<\/p>\n

Take Antwerp on the outright ML at -155, to get another victory here on Thursday evening against Lillestrom at home over in the Europa Conference League.<\/p>\n
