Today’s MLB Home Run Prop Bets For August 8<\/h2>\n

Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Matt Chapman (+350)<\/h2>\n

We figure to see some runs scored in the Orioles vs Blue Jays matchup in which Jordan Lyles will be making the start for Baltimore. This sets up nice for Toronto third baseman Matt Chapman to hit a home run out of Oriole Park.<\/p>\n

Lyles has pitched once against Toronto this season going 5.1 innings allowing four earned runs including a home run off the batt of Chapman.<\/p>\n

In his career Chapman is 6-17 with three home runs against Lyles and he had his best month this season in July hitting .325 for the month with nine hime runs. He\u2019s off to a slow start in August, but figures to turn in around to if he wants to contribute to the Blue Jays high octane offense. Two of his three hits against Baltimore have been home runs in eight at bats.<\/p>\n

By the numbers, Lyles has allowed a home run every 7.5 innings pitched this season and he currently hasn\u2019t allowed one in 13 innings so we should see a Blue Jay or two hit a home run tonight including Chapman listed at +350. Other Toronto hitters to consider hitting a home run are Teoscar Hernandez (+350)<\/strong> and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+390)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Jesse Winker (+560)<\/h2>\n

Jesse Winker has been slashing so far in August to say the least hitting .313 with two home runs already. He and the Mariners get the Yankees and Jameson Taillon in the middle of a road trip after getting swept by the Cardinals in St. Louis.<\/p>\n

The Yankees seem to be letting the dog days of the season get the best of them and the Mariners are looking to take advantage. Winker is 4-14 with a home run off Taillon in his career and hit a grand slam to help pick up a win over the Angels yesterday.<\/p>\n

Taillon has been struggling as of late allowing five earned runs and two home runs in 4.2 innings in his last start against these Mariners at home. In total, Taillon has a 4.47 road ERA allowing eight home runs in 46.1 innings pitched coming out to a home run allowed every five and a half innings pitched.<\/p>\n

Winker is listed at +450 but if you want to take a shot on another Mariners hitter, look at Eugenio Suarez (+370)<\/strong> who has three home runs off Taillon and Ty France (+650)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
