Today’s MLB Home Run Prop Bets For August 5<\/h2>\n

Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Mookie Betts (+320)<\/h2>\n

We struck out with Mookie Betts when picking him to hit a home run two days ago, but we\u2019re going back to the well tonight as Betts has another phenomenal matchup going against the Padres Sean Manaea at home.<\/p>\n

Betts is 7-19 all-time against Manaea with two home runs and Manaea has been struggling as of late. He\u2019s allowed 18 home runs on the season with seven of them coming in July.<\/p>\n

He had his highest ERA of any month in July at 5.40 including a dreadful performance against the leagues worst offensive team in the Tigers going 3.1 innings and allowing four earned runs including two home runs.<\/p>\n

Betts has hit a home run in two of the last three games played but unfortunately for us the game we picked him is the game he didn\u2019t hit a home run. This will be the Dodgers first game back at home after an 8-game road trip so they\u2019ll be excited to perform for the home crowd.<\/p>\n

Get Betts at +300 to hit a home run but other Dodgers hitters to consider are Cody Bellinger (+520)<\/strong> who has two home runs off Manaea or Freddie Freeman (+420)<\/strong> who also has a home run off him as well.<\/p>\n

Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Charlie Blackmon (+560)<\/h2>\n

Judging by how consistent Charlie Blackmon has been hitting the long ball this season he\u2019s about due for a home run this month as he\u2019s had between 3-5 home runs in each month thus far.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s yet to hit one in August, but gets a familiar matchup tonight in the Diamondbacks Madison Bumgarner.<\/p>\n

Normally I wouldn\u2019t suggest a lefty vs left matchup to hit a home run, but there\u2019s an exception to be made for Blackmon here. He\u2019s 18-53 all-time against Bumgarner with three home runs and actually hits lefties very well in general this season hitting .295 vs .255 against righties. He has a worse road average vs home but he has hit a majority of his home runs on the road this season.<\/p>\n

Considering Blackmon\u2019s experience against Bumgarner and that he has home runs against multiple Diamondbacks, getting hime at +560 is very valuable. Other Rockies who could hit one out include C.J. Cron at +340<\/strong> or Garrett Hampson (TBD)<\/strong> who has also a home run off Bumgarner.<\/p>\n
