Dundee United vs AZ Alkmaar Analysis<\/h3>\n

Last season\u2019s Scottish Premiership top four finishers Dundee United welcome in the Eredivisie\u2019s ECL Playoff winners from last season (teams made up from the 5th to 8th positions in the Eredivisie) in what should be an interesting game in the Europa Conference League for Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Dundee United slipped to an opening day 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock last weekend in a game they really should have got all three points in, giving away a sloppy 91st-minute equalizer to Ash Taylor to hand Kilmarnock a share of the spoils.<\/p>\n

The Dutch Eredivisie has yet to kick off yet, starting this weekend, but AZ Alkmaar will no doubt be buoyed by the way they finished off last season, plus the fact they owned the Eredivisie\u2019s 5th best overall record away from home in 2022 as well.<\/p>\n

The teams have only met once before in a club friendly back in 2015 with AZ Alkmaar running out comfortable 3-1 winners in that game.<\/p>\n

AZ Alkmaar Hot On Offense<\/h3>\n

AZ Alkmaar had one of the Dutch league’s best offenses last season, owning the league\u2019s 4th best offensive goals record (64), 4th best goals away from home record (28), 4th most goals from open play (40), and the league\u2019s 4th and 5th rated strikers also with both Vangelis Pavlidis and Jesper Karlsson netting 16 & 15 goals respectively last season.<\/p>\n

With AZ Alkmaar putting five goals past Bosnian side Tuzla City in the previous round also, they\u2019ll be hoping their offense stays on point ahead of Thursday’s clash against Dundee United.<\/p>\n

Dundee United Will Want An Improved Home Focus<\/h3>\n

Despite ranking as the 4th best team overall in the Scottish Premiership last season, Dundee United\u2019s home form in Tannadice Park was a cause for major concern for the \u2018Tangerines\u2019 last year.<\/p>\n

A 43.8% win rate at home last season for Dundee United put them firmly in the bottom half of the table and with Dundee United getting a bye through to this round also and only having played one competitive matchup since May, there hasn\u2019t been a whole lot of time to turn that home form around either.<\/p>\n

Dundee United vs AZ Alkmaar Prediction<\/h2>\n

With the odds currently at -170 for an outright AZ Alkmaar win here on Thursday, the books are expecting a comprehensive win for the Dutch side in this one and it\u2019s hard to argue with that assessment.<\/p>\n

That confidence for Alkmaar largely boils down to Dundee United\u2019s sub-par home form which has seen the Scottish side win just three games at Tannadice Park going all the way back to mid-January, two of which came against the same side in Motherwell.<\/p>\n

The Tangerines also went through a spell in December where they failed to win a single home game, losing every one outright, and also allowed at least three goals to opponents in half of those matchups as well, an extremely worrying sign when you\u2019re about to take on a team as strong offensively as AZ Alkmaar are.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re taking the road team AZ Alkmaar in this one on the outright -170 moneyline on Thursday to get the victory over in Scotland against Dundee United in this week\u2019s Europa Conference League.<\/p>\n
