College football Week 8 offers bettors their chance to dive into college football props and betting markets for the season.
With a quarterback passing prop and running back rushing prop that stick out on the board, Week 8 college football props provide valuable opportunities for fans looking to get action on the earliest slate of games.
With matchups like Penn State vs Iowa, Texas vs Kentucky and other Week 8 contests on the schedule, sportsbooks have already released lines, spreads, and totals that highlight key players to watch. This guide breaks down the top Week 8 college football props, odds, and betting insights to help you get ready for kickoff.
Best College Football Player Props – Pick #1: Nicholas Singleton, Penn State UNDER ~43.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
Iowa hosts a Penn State team that has absolutely fallen off a cliff in the last month now riding three-straight losses and recently firing head coach James Franklin.
The Nittany Lions play against an Iowa team that ranks fifth in fewest rushing yards allowed per game at just 79 per game as we’ll take Nicholas Singleton to go under 43.5 yards on Saturday Night.
Sure, Penn State will attempt to lean on their run game with freshman Ethan Grunkemeyer making his first ever start, but they’ll likely turn to Kaytron Allen for those duties averaging 6.7 yards per carry this season compared to Singleton’s 3.7 yards per carry.
Singleton has rushed for less than 44 yards in each of Penn State’s last three games netting only 20 yards in seven attempts in last week’s loss against Northwestern and averaging less than 10 carries per game during the last three.
As of late the Iowa defense has been stellar shutting out Wisconsin on the road last week and holding Indiana’s offense to just 104 yards rushing yards in their last home game with the Hoosiers averaging 241 rushing yards per game this season.
Play on Iowa’s defense which will feed off the home crowd during a night game, holding Singleton under 43.5 rushing yards on Saturday.
College Football Player Props Prediction #2: Arch Manning, Texas OVER ~223.5 Passing Yards (-115)
Some may say that Arch Manning hasn’t been living up to the offseason hype he received before the season, but may have a shot at a big game at Kentucky on Saturday night.
Sure, he only had 166 yards in last week’s Red River Rivalry win over Oklahoma, but a punt return touchdown, three field goals and a spectacular defensive effort helped the Longhorns secure the victory.
He now gets a Kentucky defense that allows 249 yards per game through the air with Manning’s passing yard line set at 223.5.
Although Kentucky is off a bye week and allowed minimal passing yard efforts from Gunnar Stockton and LaNorris Sellers in their two games prior, they did allow Eastern Michigan quarterback Noah Kim to throw for 330 yards in their last home game.
In the four games prior to last week Manning averaged 245 passing yards per game and facing a Kentucky team who is winless in conference play, playing in their first home game in a month at night, we anticipate the Longhorns needing to score on some big plays through the air to cover the 12-13 point spread.
Take Manning to cruise over 223.5 passing yards at Kentucky on Saturday night.
